Every insurance company is different, as well as every insurance policy. A lot of times, it boils down to the cause of the damage. Only your insurance carrier will be able to tell you if your loss is covered under your policy. The verbiage“sudden and unexpected” is typically used to determine what types of water losses are covered. Most frequently things like broken pipes, leaking ice-maker line, water damage from trees falling on the house, overflowing toilet, malfunctioning washing machine or dishwasher, etc. are covered. But if you have a leak in your roof for years that you haven't fixed, the damage could be uncovered. We can help you by calling your adjuster on your behalf and see what we can do to help you through this time!

Mold Remediation FAQ

The timeline varies greatly based on how much mold is present, what materials it has grown on, as well as where the mold is. Usually the process takes between one and five days. h
Mold starts as tiny spores. These spores grow when there is moisture present. Molds can grow on basically any surface, including;

Sheet rock
Moisture from high humidity, flooding, or a leaky roof will be the perfect place for mold to grow. There is no way to eliminate 100% of the mold from your home, but it can be controlled through proper remediation and maintaining a dry environment.

Anyone CAN remediate mold, they just need to understand that when you disturb mold (clean it, cut it out, etc.), you will also be distributing the mold spores through out the home or business, which will create new mold issues.

To properly remediate mold, we build a containment using negative pressure as well as protective equipment. We follow the IICRC S-520 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Mold Remediation.

The Rapid Restoration staff is certified in mold removal and mold remediation by the IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification). Please call us for mold remediation/removal services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
